Students will learn key life skills throughout the process. The competition is made up of two different stages. In Real Nation won the tender to develop One Good Idea, a schools programme pilot to support the Power of One Campaign, a national energy efficiency public awareness programme. One Good Idea aims to help students gain a greater understanding of energy efficiency and climate change by challenging them to develop an awareness campaign to creatively make people aware of the simple changes that we call all make in our lives to help address these issues. Students are encouraged to promote their campaign in innovative ways, with groups making use of a wide range channels to spread their message, such as newspapers, radio, online and even developing their own smartphone apps. The success of their campaigns has sustained a promotion of energy efficiency and awareness of climate change throughout the educational community in Ireland.
